1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide during signup and use of the Platform:

• Account information: Name, email address, company name, and password (stored as a secure hash — never in plain text)
• Usage data: Which tools you access, frequency of use, and AI queries (used to improve the Platform)
• Job data: Material lists, calculator inputs, and saved outputs you create within the Platform

We do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial information on our servers. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain your account and Platform access
• Process subscription payments through Stripe
• Communicate about your account, updates, and support requests
• Improve the Platform based on aggregate usage patterns
• Ensure security and prevent unauthorized access
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not display ads in the Platform.

3. AI and Data Processing

When you use AI-powered tools (code guidance, job intake, material suggestions), your queries are processed by our AI infrastructure to generate responses. We may retain anonymized query data to improve the accuracy and quality of AI outputs. Your queries are not shared with other users or used for purposes unrelated to Platform improvement.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Password security: Passwords are hashed using PBKDF2 with 100,000 iterations — never stored in plain text
• Encryption: All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Infrastructure: Account data is stored on Cloudflare's globally distributed infrastructure
• Access controls: Rate limiting, account lockout, and monitoring to prevent unauthorized access

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process limited data:

• Stripe — Payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
• Anthropic — AI query processing for code guidance tools (anthropic.com/privacy)
• Cloudflare — Hosting, CDN, and security (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy)
• Zoho — Email communications (zoho.com/privacy)

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active plus 90 days after cancellation. After this period, your personal data will be permanently deleted. Anonymized usage data (without personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely for Platform improvement. You may request immediate deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and data
• Export your data in a standard format
• Opt out of non-essential email communications

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential session data (stored in your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage) to maintain your login state. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. Your session data is stored locally in your browser and not transmitted to third-party advertisers or analytics services.

9. Children's Privacy

Sparkworks Academy is designed for professional contractors and trade workers. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 years of age. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
